It is the holiday season now, with many exciting events taking place especially when you are a mother of three young children and also a teacher too. I am surrounded by young humans all the time. This creates a huge amount of learning opportunities at my age because children are the best teachers in life. They are always “in the moment” and “present” in their actions and behaviors. One of my challenges that I have as a parent of small ones is to instill in them by my own role modeling the power of giving and being together as a family. As a young child, I valued the presence of my parents in my life and this was more important to me than anything material and nothing meant more to me than spending time with the ones that I love so much. Sometimes, we get busy and feel rushed in the excitement of life yet when we refocus our energy back to our inner guidance system than we can feel the calm from within and this peace illuminates outwards towards others.
The exchange of laughter and joy can radiately bond us together as we create magical memories. These life moments are small events that collectively fill us up and allow us to borrow from when times are troubling or we feel sad and stressed out. The memories we create are a huge foundation for our lives roadmap and how we choose to spend our time together impacts all areas of our lives both in the present and also creating future connections as well. What I want my children to know most is that I am here for them in all areas of life. Yet, I feel faced with the “demands” around me to get things done. So, how do I balance it all? Well, one step at a time, taking deep breaths and reminding them that they are loved. Once their love bucket inside of them feels full, they can happily go off into another adventure knowing that they are supported and cared for by their loving mom who day to day is learning how the impact of togetherness sets the tone for harmony and joy in our lives.
Much love, Jennifer
